Me and 50 Cent

The rapper 50 Cent called his autobiography Get Rich or Die Tryin'. I could call the last month or two of my life "Behave or Get Poor Tryin'". In order to rid myself of bad habits, I have decided to play my greed against my bad habits by paying US$1.00 to the person who catches me doing something bad. The list of bad behaviors is: Swearing (S__T or F__K, US$5.00 penalty if I swear within earshot of children), having unhealthy snacks after noon, having caffeinated beverages after noon, and getting in to work after 9:00AM. The good news is that my rate of swearing is going down. The bad news is that I'm burning $ like Congress in an election year. I'm trying to think of it as "buying good habits". (If you are curious, you can always look at the current stats)

Don't Mess With Afghanistan

[G/J/g]P had Dreyfus and me over for a yummy dinner last night. After dinner, we dove into a game of Risk. JP thoroughly crushed GP and me from the start, but to end the game she had to take my one lonely troop in Afghanistan. I forget the exact numbers, but as I recall, my troop was facing seven troops from India plus five more from the Middle East. After defeating all but one troop in India, he defeated three of the five troops in the Middle East. He came *this close* to surviving the entire onslaught. The lesson? In Risk, as in Real Life... Don't mess with Afghanistan. Those fellas know how to put up a fight.

Skydiving Video

I finally have a video (Windows Media format, 5.8MB) of my 2003 skydiving adventure. ND and JL (Mr. CL) have both expressed interest in going skydiving sometime this summer, so I might have some more video soon. As the commercial would probably say:
Skydive:  $150.00
Photographer:  $75.00
A Pure Moment:  Priceless
